Who can access our service?
Anyone over 18 who is registered with a GP in Surrey and who is concerned about their own drug or alcohol use, or who are affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use.
Counselling can help you to work with difficult thoughts and feelings. It may explore past and present life events linked to drug or alcohol use. It can help you to develop strategies to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
Please note, our alcohol criteria is 12 units per day or less. You will need to be able to attend counselling sessions alcohol and drug-free and be able to fully engage in the process for counselling to be effective. We can accept referrals for those presenting with low to medium anxiety or depression however due to the nature of our service and to ensure ethical care, we are unable to accept referrals for individuals experiencing complex trauma, psychosis, paranoia or active suicidal ideation.
Counselling can help support you
Engage in an introspective journey to explore past and present life events, proactively devise strategies to improve your mental health and wellness, work through challenging thoughts and feelings, and develop a deeper sense of internal connection.
