We are Making Changes to Our Outline Service

At our LGBTQ+ service Outline, we have been reviewing the feedback we’ve received about our service and have decided to make a few important changes moving forward.

For over 25 years, Outline has run a listening service to support the LGBTQ+ community in Surrey, offering help through a phone line, text messages, online chat, emails, and at events. In recent months, we have noticed that most people now contact us via text, email, and online chat, with fewer choosing to use the phone line. Because of this, we have decided to stop the evening phone service and extend our support hours during the day instead.

From 1st July 2025, we will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during business hours, and you will be able to reach us through text messages, emails, and our online chat. Outside these times, you are welcome to leave us a message, and we will get back to you.

We will also be putting more focus on in-person support, following the feedback we have received. At this time, we hold monthly social events and run a joint group with Community Connections. Looking ahead, we hope to organise more social events in a wider range of locations across Surrey.

Community has always been at the heart of what we do, and these changes reflect our commitment to staying responsive and relevant to the people we support. We are proud of the help we have been able to offer through our listening service and are looking forward to building new ways to connect and support each other in person.
