Lorraine Balaam, Catalyst Counselling Service Manager:
Our counselling service provides up to 24 sessions of free counselling to residents of Surrey who are experiencing concerns around their mental health and/or drug or alcohol. We are supported by a dedicated team of 26 volunteer counsellors who are compassionate, caring, and committed to making a positive impact in the community. Their dedication and support are crucial to our service, enabling us to make a significant difference in the lives of those we support. Without the incredible commitment of our volunteers, the impact we make would not be possible. I would like to thank everyone who volunteers for us, our service would not exist without you.

Alan Garvey, A Novel Idea Book and Record Shop Manager:
Our book and record shop in Godalming, A Novel Idea, is entirely dependent on our wonderful team of volunteers. Without them the shop simply wouldn’t exist. They sort through lots of donations, organise and stock the shelves, and help our customers to find the books, records and CDs they are looking for. They make the shop a welcoming place for our customers to browse and make their purchases. We really appreciate our volunteers’ help in raising funds, promoting Catalyst Support, and making the shop successful.
