Volunteers Celebrate Queen’s Award

Tuesday 20 October 2015. The Lightbox in Woking.  Volunteers, staff and guests gathered to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service from Mr Michael More-Molyneux.  What a fantastic achievement and recognition for the work done by Catalyst’s Volunteer Counsellors, group workers and Volunteers in The Welcome Project!

There are over 40 qualified counsellors who work with people struggling with issues around drugs and alcohol as part of the Reach Out programme which offers up to 12 weeks of counselling, across Surrey. The Welcome Project provides support, guidance and activities to increase wellbeing for people in Surrey Heath, Waverley and Guildford.

It was also a chance to celebrate the Big Lottery funding received for the Counselling programme – with the traditional big cheque – a really great night!
