New Financial & Wellbeing Support Service for Surrey Heath is NOW OPEN

Financial and Wellbeing Support Service Launches for Surrey Heath Residents

In a bid to address the profound impact of financial worries on mental health, Surrey Heath residents can now access a new support service. The Financial and Wellbeing Support Service (FWSS), initiated on 2nd October 2023.  It is a collaborative effort by Citizens Advice Surrey Heath (CA-SH) and mental health charity Catalyst Support. This three-year initiative, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, aims to provide free services and resources to individuals struggling with the dual challenges of managing finances and mental health.

Empowering the Community

FWSS aims to empower residents by enhancing financial resilience, improving overall mental and emotional wellbeing, reducing stress and anxiety, and increasing engagement within the local community. Kate Sawdy, CEO of Citizens Advice Surrey Heath, highlighted the service’s integrated approach, offering self-referral support to individuals dealing with financial stress and mental health challenges.

Seamless Support, Tangible Results

Collaborating with CA-SH, Catalyst Support focuses on critical areas of need: financial wellbeing and emotional support. By providing seamless, independent, and resilient assistance, the service aims to reduce isolation and foster community involvement. Sue Murphy, CEO of Catalyst Support, emphasised the joint effort between the charities, promising significant benefits for Surrey Heath’s citizens.
