Exciting plans to create a ‘Safe Haven’ in Camberley for people in mental health crisis are underway. Following on from the success of the Time Out Cafe in Aldershot which has been providing a safe and supportive environment at evenings and weekends, Catalyst is working with Surrey Heath NHS and Surrey County Council to have a similar venue in Camberley.

The Time Out cafe in Aldershot not only provides a warm and welcoming place to chat, get information on health and wellbeing and access qualified staff, but has been such a success it is currently in the running for 2 national awards! It has been nominated for the Kate Granger Award for Compassionate Care (to be announced in September) and the Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards (to be announced in October).
People who go to the cafe report that it has been crucial in helping them in times of crisis and reducing attendances in A&E.
