Sunshine, hats, Yeomen of the Guard, cucumber sandwiches and very delicious cakes – Jane de la Rosa Communications Manager of Catalyst and Lara MacKenzie, who has nominated Catalyst (previously known as SAdAS) for the 2015 Queens Award for volunteering were delighted to attend one of the 3 annual Royal Garden parties at Buckingham Palace on Thursday 28 May 2015. They caught a glimpse of the Queen, met our local MP, Anne Milton, and had a chance to enjoy the beautiful flowers, lakes and gardens of the Palace. Best of all, they were able to walk out of the main gates into the Mall, much to the excitement of tourists pressed up against the railings! The winners of the Queens Award will be announced on 2 June – fingers crossed.
